Waterloo woman accused of theft leads police on chase

A Waterloo woman is in jail Tuesday morning after police say she stole a video game from a Wal-Mart and led them on a chase.

Cedar Falls police say Amy Joanne Loge, 20, led them on a chase through Cedar Falls and into Waterloo Monday night.

Around 9:30 p.m. the Cedar Falls Wal-Mart reported to police that a woman stole a video game and some other items from their store.

After giving police the description of the vehicle and licence plate number, they found Loge traveling eastbound on Viking Road.

When officers tried to stop her, they say Loge sped up and headed south on Cedar Heights Drive and then went east on Ridgeway Drive in Waterloo. Loge was finally stopped at the intersection of Ridgeway Avenue and Bellaire Road in Waterloo.

Loge is charged with third degree theft, eluding a law enforcement vehicle, driving while suspended, failure to stop for a stop sign, and failure to stop for a red traffic light.
