Iowa's Education Director takes ACT

Iowa's Education Department director and a college professor have stepped up to the challenge of taking the ACT college readiness examination.

In February, University of Kentucky professor Scott McLeod challenged Governor Terry Bandstand to take the test after the governor called for all Iowa juniors to take either the ACT or SAT tests. Mcleod says he is skeptical about standardized testing.

Branstad declined, but Education Director Jason Glass said he would take the test and dared McLeod to join him.

The two took the test Monday in Des Moines. Glass received a score of 27 out of 36. McLeod finished with a 34.
