Black Hawks beat Tri-City in game one of the playoffs

The Waterloo Black Hawks won the first game of their best-of-three first round Clark Cup playoff series 6-4 against the Tri-City Storm at Young Arena.

Four goals were scored in the first period in less than six minutes.

The Hawks took the lead just 2:29 into the game, when Taylor Cammarata redirected Scott MacDonald's pass out of the right wing corner redirected into the net.

Twenty-eight seconds later, Tim Bonner tied the game for the Storm.

But the Hawks reassumed another short-lived lead 2:11 later when Mike Huntebrinker scored to make it 2-1. The Storm responded when Josh Henke scored 24 seconds later to tie the game.

After a split decision in the first period, it was all Black Hawks in the second.

Jamie Hill scored the first of his two goals while the Black Hawks were shorthanded.

Waterloo scored three more goals in the second period and never looked back.

Game two will be played Tuesday night.  The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:05 p.m.
