All three eastern Iowa USHL teams ready for playoff runs

All three eastern Iowa teams in the United States Hockey League are ready to make playoff runs.

The Waterloo Black Hawks, the number three seed in the Western Conference, will host the Tri-City Storm for all games of the best-of-three series.  The Black Hawks won three-of-four games against the Storm in the regular season.

Games will be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Young Arena.  The puck is scheduled to drop each night at 7:05 p.m. central time.

The Dubuque Fighting Saints, the defending Clark Cup Champions, are the third seed in the Eastern Conference and will host Team USA at the Mystique Community Ice Center.  The Saints went 4-1 against Team USA in the regular season.

Games will be played Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with face-off scheduled for 7:05 p.m. central time.

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, the number five seed in the Eastern Conference, travel to Youngstown, Ohio to take on the Phantoms for their best-of-three series.  The RoughRiders went 1-4 against Youngstown in the regular season.

Games will be played Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Covelli Centre with the opening face-off scheduled for 6:15 p.m. central time.

Lincoln, Omaha, Green Bay and Indiana all secured first round byes and await the winners of the opening round.

The Fargo Force will host the Sioux City Musketeers in the other Western Conference first round series.

The third game in each opening round series is only played if the teams split the first two games.
