Church assembles food packets

On Sunday morning, members of a Grundy County church came together to make a difference for hungry people around the globe.

The members of Colfax Center Church in Holland assembled food packages to send to those in need.

The packages contain dried beans, rice, soy, vegetables and a vitamin packet. Since each packet contains dried food and is sealed before packing, the food stays good for up to two years.

A church member heard about the 'Outreach' project from another church in Union, where it was started in 2004 by missionaries returning from Africa.

The church thought it would be a good way to get everyone involved in a mission project.

The church gets to decide where the food will go. They haven't decided where the food packets will be shipped, but they are considering sending them to Haiti.
