Black Hawks end regular season beating CR 6-4


For 36 minutes, nobody could score as the Roughriders and Black Hawks struggled to find the back of the net.  The final 24 it was open season as the squads combined for 10 goals, but it was Waterloo standing on top with a 6-4 victory when the dust settled.

Cedar Rapids' Thomas Forgione tallied the contests first goal more with just 4 minutes remaining in the second period.  Waterloo rallied with scores from Mike Huntebrinker and Justin Kloos for a 2-1 lead at the end of the period.  The Black Hawks never trailed again outscoring Cedar Rapids 4-3 in the 3rd to pick up the victory.

The win was the 11th in the past 13 contests for Waterloo.  The Black Hawks will host Tri-City in Monday's playoff opener.  Cedar Rapids will travel to Youngstown for the postseason.
