CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Hartman Nature Reserve is celebrating International Bat Week. The reserve will host an open house which provides an opportunity to learn about bats in Iowa, what is currently threatening bats around the country, and what residents can do to help.

Myths about bats will also be discussed and debunked. Bat crafts will be available for kids as well. Model bat houses will also be available for viewing, as well as, bat house building plans to take with those who attend. There will be a hike to look at bats and mounted bat houses at Hartman.

The program costs $3 per person or $10 per family. It will take place Thursday night at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and if you have any questions about this, or any other programs at Hartman Reserve Nature Center contact Katie Klus; Assistant Program Coordinator at katie.hrnc@gmail.com or call (319) 277-2187.
