WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL) -

Viking Range Corporation is recalling about 2,000 dishwashers.

Officials say an electrical component in the dishwasher can overheat. The company says they have received 21 reports of dishwashers overheating. Five reports include property damage from fire. There have been no reports of injuries.

The recall includes Model 325 and Model 450 Viking 24" dishwashers made between May 26, 2010 and September 15, 2010.

To know if your dishwasher is part of the recall, locate the identification plate mounted on the left inside the machine. The first six digits of the serial number show the date of manufacture in [mm][dd][yy] format. If your machine was purchased after May 26, 2010 (the first six digits are higher than 052610) and the Model Number is VDB450, DFB450, VDB325, or DDB325, your dishwasher is included in the recall. Machines with matching model numbers that were made before May 26, 2010 are not included in the recall.

Viking will repair a recalled dishwasher in your home for free. The company suggests customers immediately stop using the machine and contact Viking for the free repair on their website or by phone at 1-800-241-7239.
