Iowa gas prices on the decline


According to, gas prices in Iowa have fallen in the last week.

The website said Iowa gas prices decreased by 2.5 cents which makes them now sit at $3.79 a gallon.

This is 12 cents less than the national average.

"We're beginning to see refinery utilization rise, indicating refineries are coming out of maintenance and boosting production. If we continue to see utilization rise at domestic refineries, we may see an earlier peak than we have in prior years, " Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan said.

Even with prices seeing a decrease, reports that prices are up more than eight cents compared to this time last year.
