Guttenberg man jailed in meth investigation

A Guttenberg man is in jail and North Buena Vista man remains at large, as the Clayton County Sheriff's Department continues a methamphetamine investigation, which began with a tip six-months ago, in October of 2011.

30-year old Jason Oberbroecking of Guttenberg has been charged with manufacturing meth, a class B felony. He's being held In the Clayton County Jail, in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Authorities are still searching for a second suspect, 44-year old Werner Bendixen III, of North Buena Vista.

Clayton County Back on October 13, 2011, Clayton County Sheriff's deputies received a tip that meth was being manufactured at a home in North Buena Vista. When they arrived at the home on Country Lane, they smelled chemical odors consistent with meth manufacturing. Authorities searched the garage area, and found meth-making materials.

They seized the items and sent them to the Iowa State Crime laboratory for analysis. They issued arrest warrants for Oberbroeckling and Bendixen after the crime lab results came back positive for meth manufacturing.

While Oberbroeckling is in jail, Clayton County authorities ask that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Werner Bendixen III is asked to notify the Clayton County Sheriff's Department.
