CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A Northwood man, who worked for a grain elevator company, was convicted on Wednesday for creating false scale tickets.

Brad Haberman, 23, admitted at his plea hearing that he took bribes in 2008 and 2009 to create false and fictitious grain elevator scale tickets.

According to court records, Haberman made eight false grain elevator tickets in exchange for thousands of dollars in bribes.  They say Haberman's co-conspirator was paid more than $20,000 based on the false grain elevator tickets.

Sentencing will be set at a later date and Haberman remains free on bond pending sentencing.

Haberman faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years of supervised release.
