School bus hits horse in Dubuque County

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

A school bus struck and killed a horse early Thursday morning in Dubuque County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the crash happened at 6:55 a.m. on New Vienna Road, about two miles east of New Vienna.

Three horses were loose on the road, and the bus hit one of them.

There were no children on the bus.

The 80-year old bus driver was not injured.
