Police make arrests in string of Anamosa burglaries

ANAMOSA (KWWL) -

The Anamosa Police Department has arrested five people in connection with a string of burglaries in the city.

Police say about two dozen burglaries to cars, storage sheds and garages were reported last weekend.

At around 2:40 a.m. Sunday, police say they found Joshua Shepherd, 21, of Anamosa, Brayden Springer, 19, of Maquoketa and Anthony Kelly, 18, of Maquoketa, in possession of stolen property.  The three were arrested. 

As a part of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at 103 Mechanic St. in Anamosa.  Makayla McGregory, 21, and Michael Shepherd, 19, were both arrested.

Joshua Shepherd, Michael Shepherd and McGregory are all charged with possession of stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Springer is charged with third degree burglary and Kelly is charged with two counts of third degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and interference with official acts.

Police say more charges pending, including theft of services for stealing cable TV signal.

Officers also recovered property from a burglary in Maquoketa they believe happened on March 27.
