Commission upholds firing of Dubuque deputy

The Civil Service Commission in Dubuque County has upheld the firing of deputy James Doyle.

Doyle is charged with burglary and stalking. The commission says the decision to fire the sheriff's deputy was based on violations of department policies and procedures

48-year-old Doyle is accused of threatening his ex-wife's boyfriend and damaging the man's boat.

Doyle has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
