Special Election Results: Linn County voters say "yes" to new elementary school

The Cedar Rapids College Community School District has the support it needs to build a new elementary school.

In Tuesday's special election, 66.84% of Linn County voters said "Yes" to a $15 million bond to build a fifth elementary school, as well as remodel, repair, and improve other schools in the district.  The measure needed 60% of the vote to pass.

This is the question voters saw on the ballot:

"Shall the Board of Directors of the College Community School District in the Counties of Benton, Linn, and Johnson, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $15,000,000 to provide funds to build and furnish an elementary school building, remodel, repair, and improve schoolhouses, and to improve land?"
