Cutting hair for cancer

Some eastern Iowa women got a new 'do for charity Sunday - and their new style is much different than it used to be.  Four women had their hair cut to donate to making wigs for cancer patients.

Their hair had to be at least eight inches long, so it was a big change for these women. Liurie Magee, one of the women cutting her hair, actually had all of it buzzed off. She's had her hair cut short before, but never this short. She said that "Cancer now touches almost everyone's lives, either by family members or friends. There are so many people that need extra help and are going through this, that how could you not help out in one way or another? Whether it's a donation of money or your hair.

The women sold the chance to cut their hair to others at the event - put on by the Beyond Pink team. Beyond Pink is a local organization that helps women with cancer cover the expenses related to their illness.
