Former Black Hawk Brown signs with Tampa Bay Lightning

Posted:

Former Waterloo Black Hawk forward J.T. Brown signed a free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday.  Brown, considered the top available free agent, could be in uniform with the team as early as Saturday's game against Winnipeg.

The Burnsville, Minnesota, native signed a 2 year deal worth $832,500 if he remains with the Lightning, or $70,000 if he plays in the minor leagues.  The Lightning have only 6 regular season games remaining this season.

Brown spent the last 2 years playing at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, scoring 40 goals during that time.  He tallied 48 goals the previous 2 seasons as a member of the Black Hawks.
