DES MOINES (KWWL) -
The Iowa Attorney General will not give an opinion on the proposed closure of Price Lab in Cedar Falls.
In a letter to Iowa lawmakers, the Attorney General's office says it does not issue opinions when it could interfere with the authority of the courts.
The letter was dated the same day a lawsuit was filed in Black Hawk County District Court, on behalf of 37 plaintiffs against the Iowa Board of Regents to keep the school open.
The lawsuit says the Board of Regents does not have authority to close the school.
The Attorney General's office says it "is inappropriate for our office to express its view on an issue of law that has been submitted to the courts to decide."
