Warriors fall to Broncos 6-2

After winning their first two games by a combined score of 16-4, the Waterloo Warriors fell short on Friday, losing to the Brophy Broncos 6-2.

The Warriors fell behind early, but Jonathan Skarlis tied the score 1-1 on a power play goal with 14:37 left to go in the first period.  David Becker and Rhodes Dolan were credited with the assists.

But the team from Arizona would add two more goals in the first and one more in the second period before Jacob Lichty would find the back of the net for the Warriors to cut the Broncos lead in half.

That would be as close as the Warriors would get as the Broncos add one more goal in the second period and another in the third to hand the Warriors their first loss of the tournament and only their second loss of the season.

The Warriors will wait to see if they move on once the rest of Friday's games are played.
