DENVER (KWWL) -

A Denver man was arrested Friday morning, but not before causing the schools to go into lockdown.

Police were looking for David Michael Risse who is accused of an assault.  Police say he ran from the home and was thought to have a gun, so Denver schools went into lockdown as a precaution.

Risse was arrested at around 8:19 a.m. Friday morning back at the home where he was staying.

Risse is charged with domestic assault.

The Denver Community School District would not comment on the lockdown.
