JESUP (KWWL) -

Buchanan County Attorney Shawn Harden confirms that two people are dead following a shooting in Jesup on Wednesday night.

Just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, two people were shot near the intersection of Stevens and Ninth Streets in Jesup. Authorities are not releasing any details about what happened or the identities of those killed. The information circulating in the community is coming from family, friends and employers.

Friends say 22-year-old Lindsay Nichols was one of the victims. Nichols was a graduate of East High in Waterloo. Nichols graduated from the Covenant School of Radiography.

Wheaton Franciscan has also confirmed that 45-year-old Tim Roses, a radiologist with Healthcare Solutions, also died on Wednesday.

On Nichols' Facebook timeline, she recently informed friends that she had ended a relationship with Roses and felt he was invading her privacy.

"I really don't think that I should ever feel unsafe because I feel as if I'm being watched!" Nichols posted on Facebook on February 3.

On Wednesday, Nichols updated her relationship status on Facebook to indicate she was dating someone new.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says there is no continuing threat to the public regarding this incident.

Friends are planning a candlelight vigil for Nichols on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.  It will be held at Waterloo East High School.
