A Waterloo man faces several charges after harassing his ex-girlfriend and tampering with her car.

Independence police say a woman called them on March 5 to report that her ex-boyfriend, Dewayne Moye, 53, was harassing her by calling her at work.  A warrant for Moye's arrest was issued at that time.

Two days later, police took another report from the woman, and Moye was arrested by Waterloo police that evening.

He was taken to the Buchanan County jail and pleaded guilty to three counts of harassment.  A no-contact order was issued, and Muye was released the next day.

On March 14, Independence police officers were called to the woman's workplace because Moye had allegedly shown up there and tried to tamper with her vehicle.  Police say he had left before they showed up.

Police say Moye continued to call the victim, and another warrant was issued for his arrest.

Moye was arrested again on March 17 and brought to the Buchanan County jail.

He was charged with nine counts of violation of a no-contact order, one count of harassment by phone, one count of tampering with a motor vehicle, and driving without a valid license.

Moye was released the next day after posting $1725 bond.
