Cedar Falls parents still fighting for education

After several cuts at the University of Northern Iowa, a group of parents, students, and community members are working together to start a statewide campaign called "UNIfy for Education."
Just last week, UNI President Ben Allen announced academic program closures and restructuring that will be submitted to the Iowa Board of Regents for approval.
"These cuts are dividing our community and campus. Our sole purpose is to unify students, faculty and citizens around improving education in Iowa. We want to give them a voice and a way to make a positive impact," Kristin Teig Torres, a parent and Cedar Falls resident, said in a written statement.
The "UNIfy for Education" campaign says education is vital to the state's future and they believe the Malcolm Price Laboratory School shouldn't close as it plays a critical role in the future of Iowa education.

Organizers are asking people to check out their website and sign a pledge.
