Cyclone women fall to Kansas State at Big 12

Jalana Childs scored 31 points and hit the go-ahead basket with under two minutes left to give Kansas State a 67-63 victory over Iowa State in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 women's tournament Thursday.

The fifth-seeded Wildcats (19-12) broke a three-game slide and will face No. 1 Baylor or Texas A&M in the semifinals Friday.

Childs, who exceeded 20 points for the ninth time this season, had a double-double by adding 10 rebounds. Tasha Dickey scored 13 points and Brittany Chambers added 12 points and six assists for Kansas State.

Lauren Mansfield and Nikki Moody led the fourth-seeded Cyclones (18-12) with 21 points apiece.

The Wildcats, who committed just six turnovers, eliminated Iowa State for the second straight year despite being swept in the regular season.

Childs' jumper broke the seventh tie of the game and put the Wildcats ahead 61-59. She and Chambers scored three more apiece to finish it.
