DES MOINES (KWWL) -

Money for Iowa's three public universities was a topic during Governor Branstad's weekly news conference Monday morning.

Branstad is proposing the state spend $545 million on the three schools but the House wants to cut that budget to $490 million. Brandstad was joined by Board of Regents President, Craig Lang. Lang backs the plan and says that it could help avoid tuition hikes.
