IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa Hawkeye wrestling squad crowned 2 champions, while picking up a 3rd place team finish at the Big Ten Championships.  Penn State would win the team title for the second straight year.

Junior 125 pounder Matt McDonough picked up his second career title with a 6-1 decision over Zach Sanders of Minnesota.  Fourth seeded Derek St. John was a pleasant surprise for the Hawks.  St. John took down top seeded Jason Welch of Northwestern with 13 seconds remaining to grab a thrilling 4-3 victory in the final.

Iowa has automatically qualified 8 wrestlers for the NCAA championships.  At-large bids will be announced on Wednesday.
