Dodging for Diabetes

Dozens turned out at the University of Northern Iowa Sunday to play dodge ball for a good cause.  The Kappa Sigma Fraternity held its 4th annual "Dodging for Diabetes" benefit, with money raised going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  The tournament doubled in size last year, drawing 26 teams to compete.  And there's a very personal reason Kappa Sigma wanted to raise money for diabetes research.

"Basically, one of our alumni now, who was a current member when we started this four years ago, he's a diabetic.  So it's kind of in honor of him.  Diabetes is, a lot of people have it in this country.  So it's a good thing to support," said Alex Funke with Kappa Sigma.

The fraternity is already planning to host another dodge ball tournament next year and may look to add separate divisions for competitive and leisure players.
