Lottery opens for White House Easter Egg Roll

WASHINGTON (KWWL) -

People can now get a free chance to win a ticket to the 2012 White House Easter Egg Roll.

The theme for the 134th egg roll is, "Let's Go, Let's Play, Let's Move!" All activities on the White House lawn will focus on a healthy theme in keeping with First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! initiative.

This year's commemorative eggs come in five colors, yellow, blue, red, green, and purple. The red egg features the First Dog, "Bo", for the first time this year. Keepsake eggs became a part of the Easter tradition at the White House in 1981.

You can request a free lottery ticket online at the White House website. Lottery winners who will receive tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll will be notified by mail on Monday, March 12. Lottery winners will have to arrange their own transportation to Washington, D.C. to attend. The White House Easter Egg Roll will happen on Monday, April 9th.
