Western Dubuque boys drop V-S to return to state

Western Dubuque is headed back to the state tournament for the second time in 3 years after picking up a 55-41 win over Vinton-Shellsburg.

Logan Pitz led the way for the Bobcats scoring a career high 27 points on the night.  Western Dubuque took control midway through the third quarter on a Pitz bucket for a 13 point advantage.  The Vikings never pulled any closer than 6 the rest of the way.

Western Dubuque (22-2) will open up state tournament play against Davenport Assumption (21-3) on Wednesday, March 7.
