Recyclemania teaches college students to recycle

Students at eight Iowa schools are developing new recycling habits through their involvement in this year's recyclemania competition. Recyclemania is a nationwide effort promoting waste reduction activities on college campuses.

It also encourages students to recycle more and increase their knowledge on recycling opportunities. The event runs through February and March.

" We are hoping to teach students to just start recycling," Student leader Emily Rogers said. "College is a time where students are starting to perform daily habits that they'll keep the rest of their lives so we thought this was a great time for the whole promotion of recycling and going green habits."

Right now, Wartburg is ranked number 235 out of 605 schools. In their conference, Wartburg faces competition from Loras and Simpson Colleges.
