Snow welcomed by snow removal crews

When winter weather strikes some think its a gorgeous sight, while others may wish mother nature would return her snowy gift.

Then there are those people that see green in their pockets when they see white on the ground.

"We are plowing the sidewalks and in front of the school this morning," said Dawn Ellerbach, Spring Green Lawn Care.

It's a cold and sometimes messy job, but somebody has to do it.

"It's pretty important. We need to get the kids to school and help people get to work," said Ellerbach.

Ellerbach and Dominic Klostermann work for Spring Green Lawn care in the Dyersville area. The team there always keep a good eye on the weather forecast.

"Our boss always calls us after the 10:00 news," said Klostermann.

"We started at six in the morning. Our boss usually calls us to let us know when we need to be here. Some of the other guys who are out in the plows they come in earlier sometimes four and four thirty in the morning," said Ellerbach.

But no matter how bad the winter weather may be, these guys see the white snowflakes and think green.

"It gets us out of the shop and doing other stuff. I kind of enjoy it. You get to ride in the tractor all day," said Klostermann.
