Former Hawkeye and Cedar Rapids Titan wide receiver Paul Chaney was arrested Wednesday morning for suspicion of operating while intoxicated.

According to University of Iowa police, Chaney was stopped just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at Clinton and Burlington Streets for running a red light and an equipment violation.

According to the officer, Chaney admitted to having a few drinks, smelled of alcohol, had unsteady balance and bloodshot eyes and had bar wristbands on.

The officer says that Chaney admitted to being "not that drunk" and than later admitted he was drunk.

The complaint also states that Chaney told officers "they wouldn't last a (expletive) minute in Kinnick Stadium".

Police say Chaney's blood-alcohol level was .183.

Chris Kokalis, Cedar Rapids Titans General Manager, says that Chaney was released from the team following Sunday's practice and is no longer a part of the organization.
