Possible Norovirus outbreak at Independence Schools

INDEPENDENCE (KWWL) -

Health officials suspect a norovirus outbreak has caused dozens of students in Independence to be sick.

The superintendent says 30 East Elementary students were sent home last Thursday and another 20 Friday. Health officials say all of the students had similar symptoms that all point to norovirus.

Symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting and stomach cramps. Health Officials say the norovirus is spreads quickly and if you have symptoms you should stay home.
