Second egg laid in famous Decorah eagle nest

DECORAH (KWWL) -

A second egg has appeared in the nest of the famous eagle family in Decorah. The second egg was laid Monday night.

The first egg was laid last week on Friday night.  The eagles braved Monday night's snow to protect the eggs.

The nest is located in a tree at the Decorah Fish Hatchery. The eagles have gained attention from around the world thanks to the Raptor Resource Project that streams the eagles 24 hours a day. The project researcher says new equipment was installed in October and will give viewers an even better look at the eagle family this year.
