Meth lab found in empty Dubuque home

The Dubuque Drug Task Force arrested a woman after uncovering a meth lab in an empty house on Monday morning.

The DDTF received information about a possible meth lab at 2283 White Street in Dubuque. After getting permission to search the house from the property owner, law enforcement entered the house around 9:30 a.m. on Monday and found an active meth lab in the basement.

In the meth lab, officers also found 52-year-old Julie Uhrig of Dubuque. She was arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

The Dubuque Fire Department helped decontaminate Uhrig and the materials in the lab. All of the materials in the meth lab were removed from the home by the DDTF.

Uhrig is being held in the Dubuque County Jail pending an initial court appearance on Tuesday.
