WATERLOO (KWWL) -

More than 1,200 people are spending part of the weekend in Waterloo as they try to become state dart champions.

Dartboards lined the walls of the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center.

The tournament started Thursday and will continue through Sunday.

There are several divisions, related to types of games and skill along with individual and team play.

"It's been in Waterloo in the past. The last two years it did move to Cedar Rapids but we brought it back to Waterloo. It's centrally located, it's a great facility, connecting hotel and a lot of restaurants and bars close by," said Reggie Horak, tournament director.

This isn't just for fun.  Players are competing for trophies and cash prizes.
