WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Fight back against cancer!

You're invited to the annual Relay for Life of Black Hawk County kick-off rally, March 1. The Relay Rally, as it's called, will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in Tama Hall on the main campus of Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. The address is 1501 East Orange Road.

The Relay Rally kickoff event is for anyone who wants to learn more about Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society's annual, nationwide and local fundraising event, which focuses on raising cancer awareness, cancer survivors and finding a cure for cancer.

Relay for Life is a volunteer-driven, family friendly overnight experience, in which participants camp overnight and take part in a variety of fun activities, in an effort to raised awareness of the ongoing fight against cancer.

The March 1 Relay Rally at Hawkeye Community College is the official ‘Kickoff' event leading up to the actual Relay For Life on June 15, also on the Hawkeye Community College main campus.

The Relay Rally provides an opportunity to find out more about participating in the Black Hawk County Relay for Life event. For more information about the Relay Rally, please contact Co-Chairs, Candy Nardini (candynardini@mchsi.com) (319-269-0405) or Kathy Hoth (dave5104@mchsi.com) 319-231-8180.
