Dubuque museum to host Amazon River exhibit

The National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque will be soon hosting a traveling exhibit about the Amazon River.

It's called Amazon Voyage: Vicious Fishes and Other Riches, and it will be in Dubuque March 3 through Oct. 31.

The exhibit will highlight creatures from the world's largest and most biologically diverse river, including piranhas, anacondas, electric eels and stingrays.

Visitors will be interactive and bilingual activities, in both Spanish and English.

"The Brazilian Amazon is one of the world's greatest rivers; full of exotic animals, plants, and cultures," Museum executive director Jerry Enzler said in a media release. "We are very excited to share this wonderfully diverse river with our visitors."

The Miami Science Museum developed, produced and built Amazon Voyage: Vicious Fishes & Other Riches. The exhibit will be included with the regular price of admission.
