Dubuque Archbishop involved in crash

DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque Archbishop Jerome Hanus is recovering following a car accident on Monday.

The Archdiocese of Dubuque says Hanus was driving to Des Moines for the Iowa Catholic Conference legislative breakfast when his car went off the road near Dows because of icy conditions. No other cars were involved.

He was taken to a hospital in Clarion and returned to Dubuque on Tuesday.

The Archdiocese says Hanus has some bruises and lacerations but is expected to make a full recovery.
