Man faces charges after Johnson County crash

One man faces two traffic charges after losing control of his semi tractor in Johnson County.

It happened around 9:00 p.m. Friday on Interstate 80.

The Iowa State Patrol says 34-year-old Todd Blythe dropped off onto the right shoulder while he was driving and hit a guard cable.

Blythe veered left and the semi tractor went onto it's side, and slid into a ditch.

Blythe's 4-year-old son was with him. He was taken to a hospital and released with no injuries.

Blythe is charged with lane violation and failure to secure his child.
