UPDATE: First Lady Michelle Obama promotes "Let's Move" in Iowa

First Lady Michelle Obama took to the stage in Des Moines Thursday to celebrate the second anniversary of the "Let's Move"program.  Wells Fargo Arena was the first stop in the First Lady's three-day national tour.

The First Lady, Governor Terry Branstad, Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan, and gold-medal gymnast Shawn Johnson performed the Interlude Dance lead by University of Northern Iowa students. Thousands of Iowa school children also joined the dance.

Obama said she chose Iowa because of the state's healthiest state initiative.

"I am so proud of what you are all doing to make Iowa the healthiest state in this country by 2016. I am proud, I am proud you guys are starting community gardens, that you're eating your fruits and vegetables, I'm proud that you guys are walking to school instead of taking the bus," said Obama.

"Let's Move" was launched in 2010 to help address the problem of childhood obesity by promoting physical activity in schools and communities.
