The Sturgis Falls celebration in Cedar Falls this summer will feature one big change.
Organizers are moving events out of Tourist Park.

"We moved things from Island Park to Tourist Park because it kept flooding all the time. Now the same is happening in Tourist Park," said Sturgis Falls Board of Directors President, Jay Stoddard.  "This can be an expensive problem.  It cuts down on your crowd… Even though they're a very loyal crowd to come hear the bands."

Stoddard says events usually held at Tourist Park will move to Gateway Park... which is higher, dryer, and has at least 10 times more space.

With the move, Sturgis Falls can now offer something it has never offered before - parking for thousands of vehicles.  This will happen on Lincoln Street, north of Gateway Park.
Shuttles will also be available to take people between Gateway Park and Overman Park downtown.

The extra space in Gateway Park also will provide space for more events.
Commercial vendors will be there Thursday, Friday, & Saturday.
Up to a dozen chainsaw carvers will have demonstrations throughout the weekend as well.

There will also be a BMX bike demonstration.

The Sturgis Falls celebration will happen June 21-24.
