Minnesota Twins legend visits patients in Waterloo hospital

Posted:

Patients at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo had some special visitors Tuesday.

Twins legendary first-baseman Kent Hrbek, along with team mascot and radio announcer, Corey Provus paid a visit to some children in the pediatric unit. The Twins send representatives to Iowa each year to promote the team's upcoming season.

"It's kind of a tough thing to do at times. I remember back when I was playing twenty years ago, we used to do hospital visits, and it's a very humbling visit. When you can put a smile on a kid's face or on a families face when they're in the hospital; it's always good," said Hrbeck.

The Twins' representatives made stops in New Hampton and Mason City Monday.
