Iowa woman charged with blackmailing TLC's "19 Kids and Counting"

DAVENPORT (KWWL) -

Officials say a Bettendorf woman used blackmail to try to force the makers of the TLC show "19 Kids and Counting" to cancel the program.

Teresa Hunt is charged with one count of extortion. Officials say she sent a letter to Discovery Communications in January with details of an affair with a cast member from the show. In the letter, Hunt threatened to send intimate pictures of that cast member to a magazine unless the show was not canceled or the company agreed to pay her $10,000.
