Body scanners coming to Des Moines Airport

New body scanners are being put in at the Des Moines International Airport.

The new scanners will focus on areas where questionable items are found like keys or cell phones. It will only produce a generic body image.

Last year, the Transportation Security Administration said they will install 241 of the new security machines at 40 airports around the country. The goal is to eventually install body scanners in every airport around the country.

The Des Moines Airport hasn't said when the new scanners will be put into full operation.
