A Waterloo man has been charged in connection with a number of burglaries in Jones County.

Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver says that Jonathan Henry Martin, 28, of Waterloo, has been charged in connection with a string of burglaries on November 14, 2011.

Graver says that four businesses, including two pharmacies, a bar and a convenience store were broken into or attempted to be broken into that morning.

While investigating the burglary of the Grove Bar in Scotch Grove, investigators found blood that matched Martin's DNA.

On January 30, Jones County deputies, with the help of the Mt. Vernon Police Department, Waterloo Police Department and Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department, searched Martin's home and vehicle.

Martin is charged with three counts of third degree burglary and three counts of criminal mischief.  A fourth count of third degree burglary is pending.

Graver says that businesses in Delaware, Linn and Johnson counties were also robbed on November 14.  Charges in other counties and cities are pending.

Martin is currently in the Black Hawk County Jail after being arrested on January 27th for allegedly breaking into the Bamboo Ridge convenience store on Hess Road in Waterloo.  He is charged with third degree burglary and possession of burglar's tools in that incident.
