Former Hawk Coker headed to Stony Brook

Former Iowa Hawkeye tailback Marcus Coker is going to continue his college football career at Stony Brook university--an FCS Division one program in New York according to News Day.

Since he will be dropping down a division, Coker will be able to play next fall for the Seawolves, and he will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Coker who led the Hawkeyes in rushing this season with 1384 yards and 15 touchdowns left Iowa in January after being suspended for the Insight Bowl for violating the student code of conduct following a sexual assault investigation.

Coincidentally, Monday, Iowa released 9 pages of records, but none of them revealing how the administration handled the sexual assualt case. The school claimed the remaining documents in the case cannot be released because of a student privacy law.

A woman, who received medical treatment October 28th, told police Coker assaulted her hours earlier at his residence. Coker was not charged criminally after the woman refused to pursue charges.
