Inmate dies in custody

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

An inmate convicted in Black Hawk County has died while in custody.

Corrections officials say 54-year-old Lonnie Porter died Friday at an Iowa City hospital of complications from lung cancer.

Porter was serving a 10-year sentence from Black Hawk County on several charges including drunken driving and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.
