First Lady to Travel to Iowa in February

President Barack Obama is coming to Iowa Wednesday and now first lady Michelle Obama announced she is making her way to Iowa as well.

They will make separate appearances for different causes.

Michelle Obama will be coming to Des Moines on February 9 as part of a three-day tour focusing on youth fitness.

This date coincides with the second anniversary of her Let's Move" initiative which promotes physical fitness and healthy eating for children.

The first lady's press secretary said she picked Iowa because of the Healthiest State program.
This initiative is backed by Governor Terry Brandstad, whom will be featured at the event, along with Tom Vilsack, the U.S. agriculture secretary and former Iowa governor.

Brandstad hopes Iowa will be the nation's healthiest state by 2016.

The other cities on Michelle Obama's tour have not been released.
