IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Iowa wrestling team picked up their 39th straight Big Ten dual meet win taking down Northwestern 24-13 Sunday afternoon in Carver Hawkeye Arena.

The second ranked Hawkeyes won 6 of 10 matches against the number 17 Wildcats, however, the effort wasn't enough for Hawkeye coach Tom Brands.

"Six out of 10 matches isn't what we're about," said head coach Tom Brands. "It's a lot more fun to steam roll opponents, work hard, and feel good about all 10 guys. We have work to do."

Hawkeye 133 pounder Tony Ramos highlighted the winning effort, picking up a first period pin against Jameson Oster.  Ethan Lofthouse secured a key victory at 174.  Lofthouse, ranked 11th, picked up a let takedown against #9 Lee Munster to secure a 5-2 decision.
